Health officials have confirmed a salmonella outbreak that sickened 30 individuals in Vernon County last week.
Vernon County Health Department Director Beth Johnson said that the Wisconsin Lab of Hygiene had confirmed Tuesday that patients who came into Vernon Memorial Healthcare had salmonella poisoning. All of the cases were related to people who attended the same private party. No local businesses or restaurants were involved.
Although health officials suspect eggs may be the source of the outbreak “it has nothing to do with the current egg recall,” she said.
